A carbon monoxide detector already exists somewhere in the house, but a legitimate question arises: does it really protect the room where the baby sleeps, or is its reach limited by its location?

How carbon monoxide spreads through a home

Carbon monoxide mixes with ambient air and spreads throughout the home, but its concentration varies based on distance from the source and airflow between rooms. A detector located far from the child's room, especially with doors closed between them, can detect the gas later than one located closer.
